MOSAIC's intention is to centralize the mentorship experience to nurture a culture of hope and resilience by breaking generational and historical cycles of trauma and plight. Guided by its culturally relevant and inclusive community-based and in-class curriculum, MOSAIC's goal is to challenge the common deficit-based views on youth attending continuation/ alternative high schools and instead, highlight their strengths and potential. MOSAIC centralizes student experiences through the use of an intersectional, critical race and indigenous framework. Events and workshops will focus on creating increased accessibility to higher education for students who have historically been excluded from a college-bound culture.
